Filter belts for horizontal vacuum belt filters are used for filtration of very fine inorganic suspensions, especially in the mining industry and for gypsum filtration in flue gas desulphurization (FGD) plants.Filter belts for horizontal vacuum belt filters are standardly equipped with clipper seam AISI316 or with the clipper seam with a textile overlap. Textile overlap prevents the cake from leaking into the filtrate and eliminates vacuum losses.
Vacuum filter belts are specifically designed for the separation of solids from fluids in horizontal belt filter systems. We provide synthetic filter fabric solutions for horizontal vacuum belt filters in paper making, chemical, mineral, environmental protection, flue-gas desulfurization, fertilizer production applications.
Various types of material and unique weaving structure is adopted in the manufacture of filter belts to enhance the construction stability and mechanical stress. Special finishing techniques are used to alter the properties of the belt and optimize its filtration characteristics in operation. We offer soild and reliable seams, edge reinforcement for the whole belt range and installation guide. Our filter fabrics are made with high interception precision which can meet some special requirements of customization.
The main feature of these filter belts is that there are very small openings in the belt to be able to capture very small particles from suspension. To increase the ability of the belt to filter particles of very small size, some filter belts are made of a combination of monofilament and multifilament yarns (multifilament yarns are filling apertures in the monofilament). The disadvantage of the belt with the content of multifilament yarns in comparison with 100% monofilament belt is its quicker decrease of air permeability during belt operation and consequently lower flow rate. Therefore 100% monofilament belts are recommended if the size of particles in suspension is not too small.
