Deviation is caused for several reasons, i.e. the central line is not straight when installing the conveyor; the quality of the belt is not good; the tie-in of the belt is not good; the upper level material input in not in the center of the conveyor; the installation location of the idlers is not correct; the central line of the head pulley and tail pulley doesn’t match, etc. The reasons shall be investigated before any adjustment is made and proper solutions shall be applied to correct the deviation problems.
Marks shall be made on where there are serious deviations. When every correction is made, the belt shall operate two or three rounds to observe whether there is any improvement, and then decide the next move. Don’t rush to correct deviations. Don’t correct deviations at different parts at the same time.
It’s better to start with adjusting the idlers and tail pulley, then the material inlet feeder, and the location of the head frame or the tail frame. If the deviation still cannot be controlled, re-tie-in shall be considered. Please refer to the follow drawing to adjust idlers and tail pulley.
